Chefchaouen – or Chaouen, an abbreviation that Moroccans love to use – Chefchaouen is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to Tangier and Tetouan in Northern Morocco. There are approximately two hundred 200 hotels catering to the summer influx of European and Asian tourists.
One distinction possessed by Chefchaouen is its blue-rinsed houses and buildings, and its beautiful Moroccan architecture.
Chefchaouen is a popular shopping destination as well, as it offers many native handicrafts that are not available elsewhere, such as wool garments and woven blankets. The goat cheese native to the area is also popular with tourists.

Chefchawen became an international destination for tourists in a short time, its pictures and videos in social media and youtube, won the hearts of thousands from different continents and cultures. its particularity is its artistic soul, wherever your feet take you in Chawen, you will be impressed by different types of arts, painting, music etc...

Chefchaouen's blue walls are a popular subject of interest. There are many theories and myths as to why the walls were painted blue. One popular theory is that the blue keeps mosquitos away, another is that Jews introduced the blue when they took refuge from Hitler in the 1930s. The blue is said to symbolize the sky and heaven, and serve as a reminder to lead a spiritual life.

Chefchaouen has many touristic nearby attraction as the Kef Toghobeit Cave, which is the deepest cave in Africa. Currently known to be 3,918 m (12,854 ft) long and 722 m (2,369 ft) deep. and Akchour, where young people camp and enjoy the great nature with numerous waterfalls.
